A family that fell for the mountains, and stayed to build in them — since 2021.
Lycia is an independent company based in Japan, dedicated to creating exceptional experiences through hospitality, tourism development, and live events.
Our journey began in Hakuba, where we developed accommodation projects inspired by the surrounding mountains, nature, and local culture. As our vision grew, so did our projects — expanding into event production and cultural experiences that bring people together from around the world.
Acquired in August 2021, a riverside home in Hakuba became the project that taught us hospitality from the ground up — renovation, guest operations, and everything in between.
Our first ground-up development — two alpine chalets on the land neighboring Riverside Cottage — completed in November 2022.
Lycia Retreat was acquired in March and renovated through the year. In June, Lycia LLC was formally established as our operating company — and Riverside Cottage underwent a second, more comprehensive renovation, completed in December.
Our landmark music event, held in the heart of Hakuba from 5–15 November, brought together local community and international artists.
Construction began in mid-2025 and completed on 30 January 2026 — a lakeside home designed with the owners' architect in Turkey and built by Tres Homes. Mini House, a compact garage home, is now in planning for later this year.
Lycia has been active in Hakuba since 2021 — the year we acquired our first property.
Our founding business and the reason Lycia exists. For years, we have developed and managed hospitality projects, accommodations, and tourism experiences in Hakuba, one of Japan's most renowned mountain destinations — creating places that combine thoughtful design, comfort, and a strong connection to the local environment.
An emerging part of Lycia, built on our first flagship event in Hakuba. We are expanding into concerts, cultural events, and international collaborations across Japan — working with artists, venues, and partners to connect cultures through music and shared experiences.
Alongside our core business, we are building meaningful partnerships with new investors for future growth. Through digital marketing and online outreach, we connect with people interested in winter tourism, Hakuba, and investment opportunities in Japan's hospitality and tourism sectors.
Years rooted in Hakuba and Omachi — we know this valley in every season, not the brochure version.
Real relationships with the people who get things done in Nagano — builders, guides, and everyone in between.
Superhost-rated properties, run by a team that treats guest experience as a craft.
From land and building, to managing a stay or producing an event — one team, start to finish.
A small, independent company. You talk directly to the people who decide.
We build for returning guests and lasting partnerships, not one-off deals.
Everything we do is guided by the same principles: authenticity, quality, and attention to detail.
Whether welcoming guests to the mountains, developing tourism projects, or producing a live event, our goal is to create experiences that people genuinely enjoy and remember. As Lycia continues to grow, we remain committed to building projects that reflect our passion for Japan, meaningful hospitality, cultural connection, and long-term collaboration with like-minded partners.
