An engraved map of the valley we live and build in. Choose a house and fly to it.

Around the valley

01

Tours

Guided journeys through Hakuba and the Northern Alps — from quiet mornings at Nakatsuna Lake to trails few visitors find. Off-season is not off-limits: some of the valley's finest moments happen after the lifts close, when the roads empty and the light gets long.

With Run together with Awayken, a Hakuba guiding outfit we work with — they lead, we arrange.

02

Transportation

Private transfers between Tokyo and Hakuba, airport pickups at Haneda or Narita, and door-to-door service inside the valley. Booked before you land, so the first hour in Japan is not spent reading signs.

03

Local Guides

Our guides live here. They know the trail that opens at first light, the onsen locals return to, the view worth the extra hour. What you are buying is access and judgement, not information — information is free and mostly wrong.

With The guides come through Awayken — the same outfit behind the tours above.

04

Activities

From powder days to summer hikes along the Northern Alps, and quiet afternoons on Nakatsuna Lake — a year-round calendar built around Hakuba's seasons. Onsen evenings, local festivals, and the moments that mark each time of year.

05

Culinary

A chef comes to the house. The table is set inside by the stove, or out in the garden if the evening allows it. You do not book a restaurant, drive to it, and drive back — the kitchen comes to the room you are already in.

Provided by Run by Amor Fati, a private-chef kitchen on Lake Aoki in Omachi, south of Hakuba — we make the introduction and handle the arrangement; the cooking and the evening are theirs.

The people we work with

Hakuba is small enough that the people who make it worth the trip already know each other. Over the years we have worked with a few of them often enough that it stopped being a favour and became an arrangement — and if you are staying with us, that arrangement is yours as well.

Experiences are arranged case by case — there is no menu to pick from. Write to us with your dates and what you are hoping for, and we will tell you what is possible.
